lunch by the play area

i took kid one and kid two to chic-fil-a today.  (it is one of their favorites) we went with two other moms and their kids.  all the kids sat at their own tables.  kid one sat with the other boys in a booth next to the glass wall of the play area.  i heard kid one loudly moaning "yuck!",  of course i turned to look.  a child was in the play area licking the glass on the other side of where kid one and the other boys were sitting.   oh yuck is right!  (since becoming a mom not much creeps me out, but that did)  the boy stopped licking the glass and kid one eventually continued eating.  about five minutes later i heard kid two loudly say "look someones licking the glass where the other boy licked!"   yes, she was correct and i was officially grossed out. 

 what have i learned from this? 

-don't sit near the glass at fast food play areas!  you don't want to see what the children are doing in there while you are eating! 

-coat your child with hand sanitizer when they come out of a play area! 

-apparently moms need to tell kids not to lick the glass in the play areas before  they  send them in.

no, i am not loving this! 

when we lived in california the health department rated the restaurants and posted their score, a to f.  a (very clean), b (almost very clean), c  (you are taking a chance),  d (be prepared to be sick),  f (your meal comes with a barf bag and a hospital phone number).  you get the idea.  what kind of letter does this place get? Z?

doesn't sushi need to be kept cold?  who stores sushi at a temperature of 98.6?

Okay, that's just insane. Perhaps instead of having our tag line, "what the heck were we thinking of?!?!? We should change it to, "what the heck were they thinking of???"

But then again, perhaps I'm just jaded because when I applied for the position of "table!" the sushi kept rolling off my belly.

And then there was the incident of when I was fully loaded and I sneezed. And the one when I had to scratch my...itch. And the time when I fell asleep and was snoring. And of course, the time I really had to go to the bathroom... Oh never mind. How bad to you think my self-esteem is when I couldn't even get a job as a table!

banker gives millions to employees!!

this is so cool!  a banker gave 60 million dollars to his employees!  he even tracked down employees that had previously worked for him to give them money too.

all i want to know is where do i send a resume so i can work for leonard too.

Record nails broken in car crash

Lee Redmond had not cut her nails since 1979 An American woman listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for having the world's longest fingernails has had them broken off in a car crash. Lee Redmond from Salt Lake City, Utah, had not cut her nails since 1979. Their combined length was more than 28ft (8.5m), with the longest nail - on her right thumb - measuring 2ft 11in (89cm), Guinness said. Ms Redmond suffered serious injuries in the crash, but is expected to make a full recovery. A local newspaper, the Deseret News, said she was a passenger in a sports utility vehicle (SUV) at the time of the accident. Her nails were "damaged beyond repair", according to the Guinness World Records website.

i have always loved to look at the freaky people in the guiness books.

you have to admit the people with the long nails make you stop and look and think.  i always wonder how they cook, or shower, or wash their hair, or wipe their butt...  ok i'll stop and let you fill in the rest. 

i wonder about this women now that she isn't the women with the long nails.  for thirty years this was her identity and now she is just going to blend in with everyone else.

Okay. So I'm trying to figure out how the accident happened. It says she was a passenger. Duh! We could all figure that out. Can you picture her driving? So she wasn't the cause of the accident...or was she?

I have my theories that I'm going to go to the authorities with:

• Perhaps she pointed to the left turn the driver missed, accidentally poking him in the eye, rendering him blind, which caused them to crash into a pedicure shop.
• Perhaps she broke a nail PRIOR to the accident and the driver tried to help Lee pick it up (since it would take two people), momentarily distracting him from the road.
• Perhaps Lee "Edward Scissorhands" Redmond, in effort to "shoo" a fly away from her, accidentally impailed the driver, severly injuring him, and causing the SUV to crash.
• Perhaps the driver, PURPOSELY crashed the SUV, frustrated that he was the one that always wiped her butt, but never was mentioned in the Guinness Book of World Records, for something that no one else in the world would or did do.
• And finally, perhaps the authorities should check the brakelines to the SUV to see if they were tampered with. And if they were, they should haul in the person who has the SECOND longest fingernails in the world for questioning and find out where she/he was on the eve of the accident! Afterall, "second-place-person" has been waiting 30 years to be number 1!

The bovine brew is in the final stages of development by the Cow Protection Department of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), India's biggest and oldest Hindu nationalist group, according to the man who makes it.

Om Prakash, the head of the department, said the drink – called "gau jal", or "cow water" – in Sanskrit was undergoing laboratory tests and would be launched "very soon, maybe by the end of this year".

"Don't worry, it won't smell like urine and will be tasty too," he told The Times from his headquarters in Hardwar, one of four holy cities on the River Ganges. "Its USP will be that it's going to be very healthy. It won't be like carbonated drinks and would be devoid of any toxins."

i love soda.  i have to confess, it is one of my vices.  can you say caffeine?

anyway,  as much as i love soda i would give it up before i drank cow urine soda.

First you don't like the heart-shaped sink. Then, the glowing brussel sprouts. Now you're ripping on this? There's no pleasing you! these are white roses that glow in the dark.

(they glow because they are sprayed with a chemical that is said to be harmless)

these roses are special ordered from the netherlands.  anyone reading this in the netherlands know anything about these? 

I don't know... to me they look like a bouquet of brussel sprouts. And I know how much you like brussel sprouts!
