Missing monkey 'Reggie' captured, reunited with circus owner

FRUITLAND PARK - Twinkies, potato chips and a cold can of Coca Cola lured Reggie the spider monkey out of the wild and back to his old life with a traveling circus.

After almost six weeks on the loose, Reggie was reunited with his owner, Tom Liebel, outside of a mobile home park.

silly me, i didn't know you could catch a monkey with twinkies, chips and soda.

i thought you used a banana to lure them.

But I think he had time to think about it and he would rather be with me and his  his wife, [Priscilla, another of Liebel's spider monkeys]... The free life isn't what it seems. He's back and he loves us," Liebel said today. "He's a little skinny. He's lost weight.

ok, "the free life isn't what it seems"?  they have trained a monkey to eat junk food and it came back to get a twinkie fix.  this is wrong on so many levels

When Liebel arrived, he let Priscilla loose and she smacked her lover a good one, residents said. Apparently, the female monkey was not too happy that her boyfriend left her for six weeks.

note to theo, if you run off like reggie, i'll lure you back with twinkies and soda and then smack you like priscilla did.

 

This morning, the two primates were resting in a large cage outside Liebel's home in Davenport.
i'm sure both of the primates are much happier in a "large" cage in a sugar coma.

 

thoughts on the bionic gator

After reading the post below I have a few thoughts of my own!

Okay! No offense to alligators, but there are about as many alligators as there are people in FL and what hacks me off is that I'm holding off on my stinking hernia operation because I can't afford the deductable, and some stinking reptile gets a facelift!

Yes, I know it's the humane thing to do and all until the bionic gator chomps on a child't leg and they just shoot it anyway, but seriously, I want the same health insurance plan that "Robo Croc of #%*&#!" has!

If not, Lee Lee, I'm going to lay in the street and you run over my lower abdomen with the car! Maybe I can have the Miami Metrozoo operate on me with taxpayers money!

Alligator Gets Reconstructive Surgery

A crocodile who received major facial damage after being hit by a car got facial reconstructive surgery to treat his injuries. The vets at the Miami Metrozoo used metal rods to put the animals face back together and they are now referring to the animal lovingly as “Robo Croc.”

“The vets installed four steel plates with 41 screws into the crocodile’s skull in a procedure that’s amazing zoo professionals.

erma and her two buried husbands

my uncle's widow erma called with an odd story i had to share.

erma called to say she and her son had moved the body of her first husband who had died 40 years ago.  she had her first husband buried in the same cemetary as her second husband (my uncle was her second husband) she was so happy to have both of her husbands together in one spot.   (starting to sound unusual, but whatever)

then she said she and her son had seen the body and he looked so good.  they did such a good job of embalming him.   (really sounding creepy now, even for her)

husband number one was buried with his wedding ring and expensive cuff links so she thought she would have the jewelry taken off the body so she could keep it.  (yuck!  once its buried for forty years leave it there!)

her son said he had never felt close to his father until this experience.  now he feels like he has dad.  (what?  someone call dr drew.  or does he only treat addicts)

Stop it... you're killing me! I watched the video and apparently the culprit was her dog, "Dusty!" He allegedly knocked her off balance (I'm tearing up here), and she fell in the container in a folded position (no more... no more... stop).

I'm sorry, I could never trust Dusty again. What next? The oven? The washmachine? The refrigerator? No. Dusty's out to get her. It's only a matter of time before we read, "Woman found dead in toilet in folded position." Which brings a question to mind, I'm sure she didn't "hold it" the entire time she was stuck in the recycling bin...  was she recycling?

caffeine addict

i found out something today that i had suspected  for a long time but didn't want to admit.  i am addicted to caffeine!  it may sound like a joke, but it isn't!  i went without my usual large amount of caffeine today and i had an endless headache!  i told theo maybe i should call dr. drew.  lol   do they have a noncelebrity rehab? 

no wait, that wouldn't help me.  what would help me would be caffeine. 

i'm done blogging i'm off to the 7-11 for a vault, or two, or three...

911 call because there wasn't enough shrimp?

A New Jersey man is accused of abandoning his family's pet rabbit in the woods behind his Marlboro home.

Jong Park was issued summonses for abandonment and failure to provide food, water or shelter to a pet. The 51-year-old could face up to $2,000 in fines if convicted.

Monmouth County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Police Chief Victor Amato said the family wanted the rabbit “to make new friends.” Amato said they didn't understand a domesticated animal can't survive on its own.
